The most gracious man

This post is way overdue. I wanted to take the time to thank my husband for his graciousness, patience, never-ending love, and the God-like qualities that he has shown to me the past 2 years (almost!). For you romantics out there, he's a prime example. For those that aren't cheesey, well, I suggest you stop reading.

Being a new mom of course makes one grump at times, sleepless and a little clueless, but having a supportive husband there beside you representing the patience of Christ is worth it all. I am so blessed to have a husband (I think it's his culture -- being so laid back -- that I have to be thankful for). He has taught me so much just watching him being a dad. The way he distracts Elisa when she is frusterated or wants nothing to do with changing her clothes, diapers, or anything that interrupts her playtime.

Elisa's dad (or papi as we call him) works several nights a week in addition to a full time job and never comes home in a bad mood or even appears to be tired. He always has a smile on his face and is willing to open his warms to me when I need it after a long, long day.

When I think of the many more qualities that he has I am reminded of my Saviour and his gentlessness and patience in my life. I can be such a ditz at times and be a little too set on a particular goal that I'll forget to smile at life. Thanks, Wil for being there for me and loving me as I am.

I love you, honey!

Being patient

I just have to share this quote that I read this morning that really put things in perspective for me.

Be patient, steadily doing the work God has given you to do, and allow God to choose the best time to change your circumstances.

I think everyone, especially here in America, gets bored with the mundane things in life. Every day we wake up, get ready, go to work, even if we enjoy what we do, it can be monotonous. Then we want to mix things up a bit and change things. But I was reminded this morning that routine can be good as long as you have a goal in mind and God will change things when He knows you're ready!

Just a thought for today!

Almost spring here we come!

Elisa loves being outdoors. Like me, she gets cranky if you're stuck inside too long. So, yesterday we went for about an hour walk. Today, we spent some time outside playing with the neighbors puppies and she absolutely loved it. I don't know how many times she would look up at me and smile, like hey, where has this nice weather been? Now she's knocked out in her crib. Ahhh, I can't wait for spring and summer. Please God, more days like this!

Crawling...part of the time

Well, my baby officially crawled about "4 crawl steps" yesterday. She wasn't too thrilled about it either. Grandma and I had been coaxing her on and she did it; however, today she isn't feel too well (a little bit of a cold) so she wants nothing to do with it.

Overall, things are going great. We are going stir-crazy being stuck at home. I would do so awful living up north or in a place like Canada. I have to have my sunshine. I can see Elisa is like me that way, too.

Wil is staying way too busy with teaching and his job at the lab. He's gotten requests to teach Spanish at his work so he's excited about that. God is just opening doors and blessing us through it all. Although I miss him, I am so thankful for everything he does so that I can stay home with Elisa.
