Flying Sola!

Well, Wil is off for the second time to Sao Paulo, Brazil -- another work trip. I know he enjoys traveling, but I don't like being a single mom, especially with a toddler. Elisa is definitely a daddy's girl and is so excited every day when she hears her "papi" open the garage door. So, him being gone is a big deal in this household. Makes me admire all those single moms and dads out there. Thankfully, it's bedtime for her, and catching up for me.

Elisa has really gotten the hang of walking, or should I say running now. She no longer really enjoys being in a stroller or shopping cart when we are out, she would rather be movin' on her own. She also got her hair cut for the first time last night. I was dreading cutting off her curls, but it was just a short trim that she really needed. The lady at the salon thought I was crazy when I jokingly said, "please don't cut off all the curls." She replied, "I don't think there's a problem with that." But Elisa enjoyed the attention, her hair is now even all over instead of four inches in back and just a few all around. :) I will have to post pictures later as Wil has the camera.

Birthdays, anniversaries and more

It has been a crazy week. I have no real good pics to share of it all, but lots of good memories. Friday, (October 12) Wil and I celebrated our 3rd birthday together --as most people know we celebrate our big days on the same day! It's quite fun and I think it makes it extra special. Then on Monday, we will be celebrating 2 years of marriage...I can't believe how the time has flown! Wow!

My poor Wil has been sick with a bad sore throat recently and Elisa and I have been trading stuffy noses, so please pray that we are back to normal soon. Wil leaves on the 25th for Brazil and we are hoping to send him off healthy.

Walking update...Elisa is still waddling around, just not falling so much. Cute as ever.

Waddle waddle, quack quack

Well we have an official walker. When people told me that toddlers just get up and walk, I didn't believe them. In fact, Elisa did just that on Sunday, but not after months of practice. For the past few months, Miss Elisa would stand up in the middle of the floor and take a step, fall down and just laugh and applaud herself for her efforts. Too cute. Then about a month ago, she took 4 steps, but no more.

Finally...Sunday evening, Wil and I watched her walk clear across the room. Then she turned around and smiled...like wow, I didn't know I could do that. Our cautious little girl. Now, she waddles and waddles. So very cute. I will try to get a picture on here soon. But just imagine a duck walk combined with a little old lady. You know, when you see a little old lady walking down the street (no offense here!) and their arms are bent with a purse hanging down swaying back and forth and their legs slightly bent...that's our little duck.
