The Joys of 3 Easter Egg Hunts

I haven't blogged for such a long time... I am hoping to do it more often now that I am at home at least semi-part time. Just to fill you in, I am now just subbing at the daycare. Elisa and I both needed a break and quality time together. I am also cleaning a few more houses which is helping and lastly, we are expecting! Yeah, Baby #2 should arrive Oct. 28, or there abouts.

Anyway, the latest news...Elisa attended, took part, and enjoyed the goodies from 3 egg hunts this year. Above you can see a pic from each one and an attempted pic to try to get her to pose with her Easter outfit. The girl definitely doesn't like pictures, much like her mom at that age (or so I've been told!).

Anyway, this is short, but at least it's a post!

Santa, I want...

Well, I debated and debated. I didn't think she would want to..but Elisa figured out on her own and by commercialism that was everywhere...that Santa was in town. In fact, the song on the radio told her and she told me she wanted to see him. So we went and the girl was not scared at all. She told him very softly that she wanted him to fill her stocking with toys. Pretty ease task, Mr. Claus. I must admit she looked pretty cute, too!

You're more than just gravy to me...

I was informed that I didn't comment on my last blog about missing my sis...I didn't forget about you Em...my dear sis that is still in South Africa. I did miss getting to cook with you and eat til we were stuffed silly. I love Thanksgiving and I am thankful you are my sis, but I am so much more thankful for what God is doing in your life right now...more than just a turkey dinner!

A lazy Thanksgiving

Well, this holiday has been like no other. Wil has been in Spain for almost a week for his job...so he missed out on the turkey. Well, he doesn't even like turkey, but I couldn't ask him to miss out on a free trip to Spain even if part of it was for work. But he is at least going to treat himself to a soccer game and a trip to a few museums, I hope.

Elisa and I have spent Thanksgiving in Kearney, which is a very quiet, lazy town. I know we both have enjoyed being with my mom every day and me sleeping with Elisa, well, let's just say, I can't wait to have my hubby back that doesn't kick and snore as much as she does! :)

This Turkey day my family didn't even cook -- on either side. We decided to order
Hy-vee's special packaged meal. I must say it wasn't what we expected, but the turkey was good! Even my dad and step mom didn't cook -- just pumpkin pie for desert. I must say even though it was the lazy way out, it was great spending more time with family than washing dishes and stressing about the food being done. Maybe next year we can see what restaurants will be open...humm...not sure if my family will go for that one.

Can't wait til my honey is home and life is back to normal again.

Mama, pray

I just experienced the most heartfelt moment in the world. The past few months I have been really missing my days at home with Elisa, so much so that I am now working 4 days a week so we have at least one weekday home together...thinking in the future that I might need more...but anyway, tonight Elisa and I were done reading books and I was tucking her into bed. We have a routine that after reading, I then kiss almost every inch of her body and she names her body parts. But tonight, she grabbed my hands and said, "Mama, pray." She seemed so excited. So, of course, I took the opportunity and we started thanking God for everything in our lives. I let Elisa take lead in this prayer and she tried so hard to keep her eyes shut and for some reason at the same time, she thought she had to pucker her lips. :)

But with each prayer she said, "thanks God for....umm...the wagons and horses...ummm...raindrops...umm....thunder...and the list went on." She never fails to leave off Tia Wendy and Fernando also. I just love her...she never ceases to surprise me.
