When it doesn't seem right...
It just isn't supposed to happen. Little children aren't supposed to leave this world before adults. One week ago, a dear couple in my church lost their little 2-year-old to the flu. It doesn't seem fair, yet this couple is amazing. I went to the memorial service on Saturday and was blown away. I was expecting a crowd of tears and a mournful presence to be present in the church. Yes, there were tears and yes there were crowds, but what a beautiful service filled with praise songs, video montages, testimonies and memories from friends, songs from children in his Sunday school and most of all, words spoken by his parents. I think everyone left with a new found appreciation for life and to hold on a little tighter to those around us. I know I came home and just held my little girl.
Although it doesn't seem right, if you had the opportunity to witness these parents and the strength they have been given, you wouldn't have to wonder where they got it from...one pure word...grace.
